School groups interested in attending the 2017 Nebraska Science Festival Student Expo at the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum near Ashland, Neb. or the Durham Museum, in Omaha, Neb. can register on October 26.

The Science Expos on April 20 and 21 offer a variety of free science- and technology-related booths and programming.

The Expo is part of the fifth annual Nebraska Science Festival, which is presented by the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The Festival runs from April 20 to April 29 in communities across Nebraska.

Teachers interested in bringing their elementary-age students (ideally third- through fifth-graders) can register online at www.nescifest.com.

Registration is free and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Openings will be available at both locations from 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

If the student expo’s fill up, we invite you to attend the FREE Science Expo at The Durham Museum on April 22. No registration required.

The Nebraska Science Festival began in 2013 as an initiative of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, which continues to administer the Festival with the assistance of a number of organizations and individuals interested in the advancement of science literacy.

The Science Festival is designed to make science accessible, interactive, relevant and fun for kids and adults alike. In addition to UNMC, other sponsors, to date, include Metro Credit Union and media sponsor the Omaha World-Herald.

*Please note, the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum student expo will be held on April 20, while the Durham Museum student expo will be on April 21.
