Registration for the 2018 Nebraska Science Festival, scheduled for April 19-28, opens October 25. The sixth annual event will feature student expos and a variety of science and technology-related activities in communities across Nebraska. but organizers are encouraging teachers to register their classes now for the free science expos.

For the first time, the Nebraska Science Festival will include a student expo in Lincoln at the University of Nebraska State Museum at Morrill Hall. Returning sites include the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum in Ashland, Neb., and The Durham Museum in Omaha.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and fills quickly. Teachers should visit www.nescifest.com to register their classes (the expos are geared toward third- through fifth-graders) for either an 8:45 to 11:15 a.m. slot, or an 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. slot. Student expo dates are detailed below:

  • The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum on April 19;
  • The University of Nebraska State Museum at Morrill Hall on April 23-24; or
  • The Durham Museum on April 27.

The free science expo on April 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at The Durham Museum in Omaha is free and open to the public.
