Science Fair Scholarships
Nebraska Cures provides two $250 scholarships to students from across the state who excel at the Nebraska Junior Academy of Sciences (NJAS) State Science Fair.
The 2021 awardees are Landry Geiger from Cozad High School and Samantha Chavira from Lyons-Decatur Northeast Schools. Both students were also selected by a panel of judges to serve as Nebraska Representatives at a national meeting in Philadelphia.
NJAS seeks to stimulate science education and to encourage young people to become involved in science. The NJAS Science Fair, held annually in April, brings together the Top 6 junior and senior high student projects from each region of the state. This year’s competition was held virtually. Submissions included research papers, digital copy of student posters, and video presentations about their projects.
