Take Action to Protect State Research Funding

Nebraska Legislators are working on adjustment to the state budget. The governor’s proposed budget cuts include eliminated $15 million from the Health Care Cash Fund to biomedical research. His budget also cuts an additional $2.7 million for pediatric cancer research.

Congress is working on the budget for the next fiscal year, which starts October 1 and runs through September 2026. The President’s budget request proposes a drastic 40% cut to the NIH. This would severely undermine scientific progress and stall medical innovation.
