“Now more than ever, we must protect biomedical research. The work we do today saves lives tomorrow.”
These powerful words come from Dr. David Crouse, PhD, retired professor emeritus at UNMC and Nebraska Cures board member. As both an educator and scientist, Dr. Crouse has witnessed firsthand how medical research in Nebraska has led to breakthroughs in cancer treatments, vaccines, mental health therapies, and chronic disease prevention.
But right now, that progress is at risk.
Federal and state support for medical research hangs in the balance. If we want to see the next generation of treatments and cures, we must stand strong for science.
As the state’s only 501c(3) nonprofit organization promoting and supporting medical and scientific research, Nebraska Cures remains vigilant in ensuring that science stays a top priority in our state. The need for action is real—but so is the headway we make when we come together.
We need your support to elevate the importance of medical research in Nebraska. Whether it is making a donation or signing up to be a Science Advocate, your support helps us bridge critical gaps, so we can continue advancing science and building a healthier, stronger future for all of us.
Thanks to our supporters, Nebraska Cures has united organizations like Creighton, Boys Town, and UNMC to recover vital funding and foster collaboration. But to continue these important pursuits, we still need science advocates like you to make a difference.
As Dr. Crouse reminds us: “The work we do today saves lives tomorrow.” With your support, that work will see another day.
