The 2026 Nebraska Women in STEM Conference brought together more than 100 women from across the state for two days of learning, connection, and inspiration—and the feedback makes one thing clear: this community continues to grow stronger every year.
With nearly 82% of attendees rating their overall experience as “Great” or “Excellent,” the conference once again delivered meaningful opportunities for women in STEM to connect, learn, and lead.
A Space to Grow and Lead
Attendees left the conference not only with new knowledge, but with renewed confidence in themselves and their careers. An overwhelming majority shared that they gained skills to support their professional growth and felt more connected to a broader network of women in STEM.
As one attendee put it:
“I learned a lot of steps and strategies to overcome obstacles in advancing my career. I also felt empowered by the types of leaders women are in Nebraska—leading with their whole selves, with empathy, and with drive.”
Others echoed a similar sense of empowerment:
“I am strong, capable…”
“I am not alone in my struggles with imposter syndrome.”

The Power of Community
One of the most consistent themes throughout the feedback was the importance of connection.
From structured networking opportunities to organic conversations over lunch, attendees repeatedly highlighted how meaningful it was to be surrounded by women who understand their experiences.
“How positive and uplifting a large community can be when they come together to grow together.”
“There are other women who are experiencing the exact same things in their careers.”
“Building community is incredibly important. You never know who else is looking for community, too.”
In fact, more than 80% of participants said they feel more connected and supported by a network of women like them after attending.
Inspiring Speakers and Real Conversations
From keynote speakers to breakout sessions, attendees praised the depth, authenticity, and relevance of this year’s programming.
Many highlighted the impact of hearing real stories—about leadership, failure, growth, and resilience.
“I was blown away at what this woman has accomplished, while remaining incredibly humble.”
“It was freeing to be able to talk openly on [career experimentation]—a topic that sometimes feels taboo.”
Sessions on leadership, trust, time management, and navigating challenges in STEM resonated deeply, giving attendees practical tools they can take back into their workplaces and communities.

The enthusiasm for future events is strong, with over 90% of attendees saying they are likely or very likely to participate again.
