“We applaud Attorney General Doug Peterson for taking action against direct-to-consumer stem cell clinics operating in Nebraska. Stem cell treatments offered at these clinics are not supported by controlled clinical trials in evidence-based medical research and do not have approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They are not covered by any insurance. Misleading advertising is used to prey upon people desperate for a cure for their chronic and often incurable conditions. We will continue to work with legislators to protect Nebraskans against other such unethical treatments still available across our state in other clinics.”
