Physician assistant, Jill Selzle is featured speaker on July 23
Jill Selzle, a physician assistant with Nebraska Medicine in the department of surgery’s division of cardiothoracic surgery, will discuss “The ENDS Game” a review of electronic nicotine delivery systems at the July 23 Omaha Science Café at 7 p.m. at the Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St.
Selzle graduated from Hastings (Neb.) College with a bachelor of arts in bio-psych Spanish communications. She then completed her master of physician assistant studies in 2005 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
She also is a certified tobacco treatment specialist and registered vascular technologist. She currently serves on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Smoking Cessation Panel, the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiovascular Surgery, and the UNMC Board of Alumni.
Selzle spends time volunteering for numerous organizations such as the American Lung Association, Compassion International, American Heart Association, Millard Public Schools Pre-K-12 Health Framework Core Committee, American Red Cross, Open Door Mission and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Science Cafés involve a face-to-face conversation with a scientist about current science topics. They are open to everyone (21 and older) and take place in casual settings like pubs and coffeehouses. Each meeting is organized around an interesting topic of conversation. A scientist gives a brief presentation followed by a Q-and-A period.
