Dr. John D. Jackson will lead the March Science Cafe titled “Bioprinting: Enabling Technology for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.” The talk is Tuesday, March 14 at 7 p.m. at the Slowdown.
Dr. Jackson is an Associate Professor in the Institute for Regenerative Medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine. He earned his Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He worked at DNAX Research Institute in Palo Alto, California, where he studied the role of cytokines on the regulation of hematopoietic and immune systems. He moved back to Nebraska in 1990 to work as an Assistant Professor at UNMC in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology and Technical Director of the Cell Processing Laboratory. In 2010, Dr. Jackson moved to Wake Forest School of Medicine as an Associate Professor. His research interests include: tissue engineering of tissues and organs including skin, thymus, inner ear, kidney, corporal tissue and ovary.
