National Funding

Nebraska received $137,301,284 in funding from the National Institutes of Health in 2024.

Nebraska received $51,651,000 in funding from the National Science Foundation in 2023.

State Funding

Nebraska legislators commit $15 million a year to advancing biomedical research, supporting scientists whose work improves health outcomes across the state and beyond. Take Action to Protect Research Funding

Congress is working on the budget for the next fiscal year, which starts October 1 and runs through September 2026. The President’s budget request proposes a drastic 40% cut to the NIH. This would severely undermine scientific progress and stall medical innovation.
